THE ZROOM IDEA
Private rooms, shared keys and a pixel corridor. Zroom takes visual inspiration from Zcash and its privacy culture. It is an independent project. Room encryption runs in your browser; it is not a Zcash transaction or a shielded blockchain connection.
WHAT IS PRIVATE?
Messages and aliases are encrypted with AES-GCM in the browser. The random encryption key stays in the invitation fragment and is not sent to the relay. A separate bearer token controls access to ciphertext.
The relay and hosting provider can still observe connection metadata, room IDs, message sizes and timing. Zroom does not make your connection anonymous, hide blockchain activity, or verify who is behind an alias. This is an experimental app, not an audited security service.
WHO HOLDS THE KEY?
Anyone with the complete invitation can read and write as any alias. You can leave a room, but you cannot retract an invitation from someone who already copied it. Do not place the invitation in a public post.
WHEN THE ROOM EXPIRES
Access stops at the selected expiry time. Encrypted records may remain until cleanup; this is not a promise of immediate physical erasure. No website can delete screenshots or copies kept by recipients.
THE HOSTED ROOMS
Real room messages use the encrypted relay. Visitors join with the complete invitation. The local walkthrough stays in this tab. No wallet transaction, token pair or rewards are connected to room access.
